  • Why we compost every cup

Our takeaway cups and lids are compostable, and the grounds go to a community garden two streets away.

Bring your own cup and the coffee is a little cheaper.

  • Five things to try this month

    1. The cardamom bun, warm
    2. Pumpkin soup with seeded bread
    3. A filter coffee from our guest roaster
    4. The apple and walnut tart
    5. Friday night music by the window
  • Live music every Friday

From this month, local players take the corner by the window every Friday from 18:00.

Entry is free. The kitchen stays open for soup and bread until 20:00.

  • How we choose our coffee

We buy from two small roasters and taste every new batch together before it goes in the grinder.

We look for coffee that tastes good with milk and without it, because most of our regulars drink both in one week.

  • Meet our head baker

Mira starts at five every morning, three hours before the doors open. She shapes about two hundred buns a day and still tastes the first one from every tray.

Her tip for home bakers: give your dough more time than the recipe says.

  • Our autumn menu is here

Pumpkin soup, roast pear porridge and a new apple and walnut tart join the menu this week.

The summer salads move off the board on Monday. If you have a favourite, tell us at the counter and we may bring it back in spring.
